Overview
I designed and developed the portfolio website for illustrator Hanami Soramoto. Conceived as a dictionary, the site invites visitors to explore her illustrations as if they were looking up words, discovering meanings through images. A built-in search function allows users to navigate the collection intuitively, turning exploration into a quiet, thoughtful experience. I was responsible for the design, STUDIO development, and client communication.

The site features a simple structure designed to let the illustrations take center stage, while remaining clear and intuitive to navigate. Because the artwork makes frequent use of vivid primary and pastel colors, a muted ultramarine background was chosen to create balance and depth. Within this minimal framework, the illustration pages are searchable like a dictionary, adding a layer of playful interaction for users to enjoy.

The site has been well received for its easy-to-use CMS. With illustrations displayed boldly across the screen, visitors can immediately recognize it as an illustrator’s portfolio. The unique presentation of the contact form was also praised for its fresh and unexpected approach.
